Afghanistan defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the first ODI at Hambantota on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Chasing 253 for victory, Afghanistan reached the target in 47.2 overs with six wickets in hand.
Hashmatullah Shahidi (82) and Rahmat Shah (73) put on 149 for the second wicket to lay the foundation for the win.
Shahidi scored his 10th ODI half-century, while Shah hit his seventh.
Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi (25 not out) and Najibullah Zadran (21 not out) also played useful knocks to help their team to victory.
Sri Lanka's bowlers struggled to contain Afghanistan's batsmen, with only Dushmantha Chameera (2-47) and Wanindu Hasaranga (1-42) picking up wickets.
Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 252 for nine in their 50 overs after being put into
bat.
Pathum Nissanka top-scored for Sri Lanka with 81, while Kusal Mendis (49) and Dhananjaya de Silva (37) also made valuable contributions.
Afghanistan's bowlers were led by Rashid Khan (3-43), who picked up three wickets in his 10 overs.
The second ODI will be played in Hambantota on Tuesday.
